Welcome
The Community Playbook is a practical, values-driven resource for people working to protect and strengthen their communities.
Across the country, neighbors are organizing mutual aid, showing up at city council meetings, responding to crises, and building systems of care and accountability—often with limited time, uneven support, and a lot of unanswered questions. This site exists to make that work a little easier.
You’ll find curated toolkits, guides, and examples drawn from organizers, advocates, researchers, and communities already doing the work. We focus on what’s useful: how to prepare for meetings, build rapid response networks, support one another in moments of stress, and navigate local systems with clarity and care. Rather than reinventing the wheel, we surface what works, explain how to use it, and adapt it for real-world conditions.
At its core, The Community Playbook is grounded in a simple idea: communities are safer, stronger, and more resilient when people have access to good information and practical tools. This is a living resource—meant to be shared, adapted, and returned to as needs change.
We’re glad you’re here.
